Welcome to NAWBO-SA's Blog... Started in 1998 as a collection of innovators; NAWBO-SA is the premier organization for women business owners in San Antonio. Our burning ideas lead to starting this chapter and develop its programs, some of which are recognized on a national scale. We invite you to be part of the conversation...

Food For Thought

Message from the President

Curling up by the fire, watching the Christmas lights, listening to music and making plans for 2012 - aside from the normal day-to-day business - these activities are things we do this time of the year. We have more social engagements than normal.  How to get to them all is the question on most of our minds.  In our businesses we are looking into the future to see what the next year is going to bring.  We review the past year to see what we did well and what adjustments we need to make going into the next year.  The best way to maximize your membership in NAWBO is to actively participate in at least one committee if not several.  Through committee participation, you as a member will get to know other NAWBO members and they you. It is through building these relationships that you will leverage your membership.  Your NAWBO-SA officers and Chapter Administrator, Anne-Marie Weldon, are here to assist you in any way possible.  We want you to be happy with your membership.  We want you to get connected and be successful in your business and within NAWBO. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any concerns you may have. We are listening. Let us help  plan your 2012 NAWBO-SA success.

January 2012, we are going to go live with our new website. You will see updated information in addition to new and better ways for us to communicate with you. Be patient with us as we move through this transition. We thank you for hanging in there with us.

The first Tuesday of each month we will have a member orientation meeting at Amegy Bank.  This is for ANYONE who wants to get refreshed on what is happening inside NAWBO-SA.  We will give you an over view of the chapter, introduce you to Committee Chairs and give you an opportunity to sign-up for involvement within committees.   It is a fun time to exchange information and get to know other members of NAWBO.  Email info@nawbosa.org to secure your seat at the January 3, 2012 Member Orientation Meeting.

As January 2012 comes into view, our activity calendar is going to fill up fast.  After the Member Orientation Meeting, there are numerous committee meetings; The ESA Winner's Reception on January 12 at Cavender Audi; along with our normal monthly Women Mean Business Luncheon where we are going to be educated on how to use all those new gadgets we got for Christmas.  Get your calendars out and put the events below in so that you do not leave any out.

Wishing  you all a Merry Christmas, a Happy and Very Prosperous New Year!

Patsy Foxworth is the current President of NAWBO-SA and owner of Foxworth Consulting, specializing in business success coaching and consulting services.
