May 2013 President's Message
The one thing a company has to have to transact business is sales. I recently had the honor to sit and talk with the owner of a successful locally owned, privately held company. We talked about what one had to do in the beginning to establish a company; to get it off the ground. This owner told me stories of long days and sales call after sales call which led them to the one sales call that helped to turn the corner for their business. The success of that one sales call led them to multiple sales and referrals for sales. Without sales, a company ceases to exist.
This month during our monthly Women Mean Business meeting on Thursday, May 23, our topic is on sales – “Getting More Business: Your Personal Brand Makes You Your Own Best Salesperson” with our guest speakers; Janet Holiday, President of The CE Group and Mary Reilly-Magee, President of Love to Swim and Tumble School.
Congratulations to Kathy Swanson, owner of Integrated Marketing Werx and NAWBO San Antonio Board Program Chair. Kathy has been selected as the Member Spotlight for the month of May. Click here to read more about Kathy and her company, Integrated Marketing Werx.
Please save the date, Thursday, June 27th, on your calendars. This is the NAWBO San Antonio End of Year Appreciation Banquet which will be held at Ruth’s Chris Steak House at Sunset Station. The evening will be a celebration of the past two years of my Presidency of NAWBO. We will be reviewing the past and looking to the future with the installation of Nancy Victor as your new President along with the new board of directors. Additionally, we recognize our Corporate Partners and Executive Member Partners who have supported us over the years. Please make plans to be with us for this evening; it would not be the same without you there.
May all your business sales lead you to greatness.
Success to you always,
NAWBO-San Antonio President
