Marilyn Hartmann, Sr. Vice President
Texas Champion Bank
Marilyn has been in banking since 1976. Specializing in Commercial Lending she is a strong advocate for the small business owner. “I believe in promoting small business owners to help them receive the recognition they are so deserving of. I feel my purpose in life is to assist others through my daily work. I accomplish that by helping others achieve their dreams and by helping them to become successful and to grow their businesses.” Marilyn has successfully assisted her clients and others to receive recognition through the NAWBO ESA Awards program as well as the North SA Chamber’s Small Business Leaders Awards program.
Marilyn was awarded the prestigious Eva Rosow Award in December 2015 from the Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) SA organization. The Eva Rosow Award of Excellence is an award that recognizes a female member of CREW-San Antonio who is a model of excellence to the CREW membership and the commercial real estate community. Award recipients act as mentors within our organization and are committed to enhancing positions in the field of commercial real estate. The award is named for Eva Rosow, a pioneer for women in the field of commercial real estate in San Antonio.
Marilyn also received the SBA’s Financial Services Champion of the Year Award in 2010 for her many years of work in assisting business owners through the SBA loan guarantee programs.
“I believe in NAWBO’s mission to help women business owners to grow and prosper in their business. I actively support and participate in the high school business plan scholarship competition “Entrepreneurial Connections” and the “Entrepreneurial Spirt Awards” program to recognize the accomplishments of women business owners. I have chosen to spend my volunteer hours supporting NAWBO’s mission and these worthy programs.”
Marilyn’s off hours are spent on their property in Seguin helping husband Gerald with their menagerie of goats, donkeys, dogs and assorted wildlife. Fun hours are ones spent with the 3 grandchildren: Jeremy, Jacey and Jordan. The family is active in their church, Christ Lutheran of Elm Creek, where the grandchildren represent the 5 th generation of the family to worship there over the past 130 years. In addition to church activities, Marilyn is active in their community with fund raisers for the New Berlin Volunteer Fire Dept. and the New Berlin Community Center.
