FAQs

What are the membership tiers?

NAWBO offers four distinct annual membership tiers to support women at various stages of their business journey:

Basic – Designed for business owners, includes benefits like member directory listing, event discounts, advocacy updates, and monthly webinars.
Premier – Adds voting rights at national meetings, eligibility to serve on chapter and national boards, and the opportunity to submit content to NAWBO One and speak at national webinars.
Supporting – Open to allies and supporters (e.g., nonprofits, corporate partners) providing broader event participation and access to member perks without voting rights.
NextGen – Women in high school, college or graduate school who are on an entrepreneurship education track—as well as women of any age within the first 1-3 years of their first business startup access to NAWBO’s community and resources as they launch and build!

Can I attend before joining?

Yes! NAWBO-SA invites prospective members to attend a guest visit at one of our monthly meetings or signature events. It’s a fantastic way to experience the energy, connect with fellow businesswomen, and see if our chapter aligns with your goals—no commitment required.
We ask that after attending two events, you decide to join or not. Don’t own a business?? Become a supporting member or a Corporate Partner.

Is NAWBO only for business owners?

While NAWBO’s core mission is to empower women business owners, our Supporting membership tier welcomes allies—including nonprofit leaders and corporate advocates,  —who are passionate about lifting up women entrepreneurs. These members enjoy meaningful engagement through events, resources, and networking.

How can I volunteer?

We encourage involvement across multiple channels:

Committees: events, sponsorship, programming, and public policy
Mentorship: our flagship High School Mentorship Program
Board roles: open to Premier Tier members

How can my company sponsor and/or partner with NAWBO?

We offer two ways to get involved:

Corporate Partners receive brand visibility, event access, and promotional perks across our chapter activities.
Alliance Partners collaborate with us on educational programs, events, and community outreach.
